Experience

My career is rooted in a lifelong connection to the game of golf. I was introduced to the sport at a young age by my Scottish grandparents, and it quickly became a constant presence in my life. Before entering the turf industry, I spent nearly fifteen years with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, where I developed strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. That experience shaped my professional foundation and continues to influence how I approach people, challenges, and long-term planning.

In 2019, I transitioned into golf course management and have steadily progressed through roles of increasing responsibility. I began as a seasonal crew member at Mohawk Golf Club, gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of course maintenance. I went on to serve as Assistant Superintendent at Wolferts Roost Country Club and later as Superintendent at Normanside Country Club, where I managed daily operations, led staff, completed in-house course improvements, and prepared the property for tournament play. In 2023, I joined Midland Country Club as Assistant Superintendent, where I help maintain championship-level conditions and play a key role in preparing the course for the annual LPGA Dow Championship.

My leadership philosophy is built on transparency, trust, and shared ownership. I believe strong teams are created through clear expectations, consistent standards, and hands-on mentorship, while still encouraging individuals to think critically and take pride in their work. I am committed to balancing tradition with innovation by embracing data-driven agronomy, emerging technology, and sustainable practices that protect turf health and enhance the golfer experience. Ultimately, my goal is to steward each property with integrity—building resilient teams, preparing the next generation of leaders, and delivering playing conditions that honor the game and those who love it.
